Review: The Inkey List Glycolic Acid Scalp Scrub

October 24, 2021

If you’re familiar with this blog, you may remember my previous Inkey List hair care review, if not, you can catch it here. However, it’s been over a year since that review, and it’s time to give them a second chance. The team at Inkey List kindly sent me their brand new Glycolic Acid Scalp Scrub, and I’m excited to share my thoughts!

Firstly, let’s talk packaging.

The Glycolic Acid Scalp Scrub features a tiny squeezy nozzle, which is great for dispensing the product straight onto your scalp without running the risk of applying too much. Either that or you can squeeze some into your hand, and give yourself a little head massage whilst you’re applying it!

The Glycolic Acid Scalp Scrub is a treat for both your hair and scalp, and features a combination of:

  • 7% Glycolic Acid
  • 2.5% Symcontrol ® Scalp*: Based on a microalgae from the Mediterranean Sea. It is an effective scalp sebum regulator, reducing sebum overproduction for less oily hair that also protects the hair fibre.
  • 2% Castor beads
  • 0.5% Bioecolia ® **: Helps protect, balance and maintain the skin’s Ecoflora, creating the ideal scalp microbiome.

So, does the Inkey List Scalp Scrub work?

I really, really think so; The Inkey List claims the Scalp Scrub helps boost healthy hair, promotes growth, and removes build-up from the first use; and I agree! Both my scalp and hair felt smooth, super soft, and flake-free. Have you seen those anti-dandruff commercials where the person is running their hands through their hair in slow motion, that’s exactly how I felt.

I’ve used it 4 times since receiving it, and the extreme softness is a recurring thing. I would definitely check it out if you struggle with a flakey scalp, buildup, or you just want to up your hair care game!
