Let’s start by saying I have a love/hate relationship with this product. The Umbra Tinte Physical Daily Defense from Drunk Elephant is quite a difficult product to use. But firstly, let’s talk about the fact it’s SPF 30 – that’s great!

However, this on top of any serum or moisturiser makes the product peel off and crumble off! And please let me get me started on this on top of stubble.
Now, if you don’t use any daytime serums, heavy moisturisers, or anything like that, then you might love this! In fact, it hydrates and protects the skin quite lovely.

Following on, it’s worth noting this could just be me. So if you love then, then I’m super super happy for you! However, I tried this on top of my regular routine, a stripped back routine, and on top of a super basic routine and it still totally crumbled off.

In contrast, on days I can’t be bothered doing a routine and I just cleanse and tone – this is really superb. The Umbra Tinte leaves the skin bronzed and glowy, without looking like the tin man!
I know that sounds so wishy-washy, but it was quite a difficult product to work.
