Review: Fat Water | Fenty Skin

Fenty Skin Fat Water

January 13, 2021

Hello! I’ve been using the Fenty Skin Fat Water pretty much day and night for two weeks, so I thought now would be a good time to give you my first impressions.

Firstly, although named it’s named ‘Fat Water’, I don’t find anything ‘Fat’ about it… Sure, it’s thicker than your regular toner, but I actually found it to be a lot thinner than my usual morning serums. Perhaps that’s why it’s meant to be a hybrid, who knows?

Anyways, it’s got big, big claims… Supposedly it helps target the appearance of pores, brighten the skin, improve the look of dark spots, smooths, and fights shine! All whilst hydrating. Now I’ve got to say, I did find it hydrating. Hydrating enough for me to skip my usual morning Hyaluronic Acid serum, but that’s where the results kind of stopped. Sure, it’s probably way too soon to notice any brightening results, but I didn’t notice any smoothing benefits, reduction in shine, nor my pore visibility.

As for the fragrance; at first I didn’t really notice it, but the more I use it, the stronger it gets! But to be honest, I don’t mind it. It’s not overly intense and it doesn’t linger for too long either.

I know a lot of you have said that this range would be good for someone wanting to develop a routine, and I have to agree. If you’ve never used a toner/serum before, then this would be a good introduction. But if you’re already experienced with serums and actives, then just save your money.

Final Thoughts

All-in-all, do I regret buying this? No.
Do I hate it? Also, no. I’ll continue using it.
Is it revolutionary? Not really.
Would I repurchase this? Probably not.
Do I feel included on Instagram now that I own it? Yep.

I think if you’re going to purchase one item from the Fenty Skin range, go for the moisturiser/SPF combo. I’ve been using that every morning and I absolutely love it. Dare it say it could be my favourite SPF?!

Have you tried anything from Fenty Skin?
What do you think? Let me know!
