REVIEW: Juno Oil | Sunday Riley

Sunday Riley Juno Oil

July 31, 2020

Today I want to talk to you about the Juno Oil from Sunday Riley. This is my first ever Sunday Riley product, and honestly… I’m not that impressed.

Quick stats:

Rich in omegas 3, 6, and 9
Created with 100% pure plant extracts
Restores the skins natural moisture barrier
Gives an instant glow to the skin

I went into this product with an open mind as I love incorporating oils into my evening routine. I’ve heard great things about Sunday Riley’s oils, so I was super excited to try this!

The Sunday Riley Juno Oil is rich in 9 cold-pressed and superfood seed oils, which in theory could be fantastic. But, honestly, I just didn’t see any benefits whilst using it.

The Claims:

Sunday Riley claims that the Juno Oil gives an instant glow to dehydrated skin by restoring the skin’s natural moisture barrier. Sure, it made my skin look glowy. But that’s because it’s an oil… Most oils will make your skin look glowy. It’s an oil, it’s meant to have shine.

As for strengthening my skin barrier, I didn’t notice any major difference, but I guess that’s a waiting game.

Now, this isn’t a quick, one-use product, as you can see I’ve almost used the whole bottle. I tried it a few ways: as the last step in my routine, mixed in with my moisturiser, and straight onto the skin fresh from the shower. Neither of those techniques provided me with any substantial results.

In a previous post I mentioned that I was enjoying this, and I thought I was, but it wasn’t until a few weeks later that I realised this wasn’t the product giving me those great results I claimed! This product just paired well with the other products in my routine. And using this on its own showed me how lacklustre it was!

Following on, if you’re suffering with a compromised skin barrier or a lacklustre complexion, there are so many more effective products on the market! For a lot cheaper too. This one just didn’t cut it for me.

However, packaging wise, this product gets an A+ from me. The glass is sturdy, feels heavy, and looks pretty luxe on my vanity. But is that enough to justify the product? No way.

Now don’t get me wrong, I’m sure some other Sunday Riley oils are fantastic, and I’m definitely interested in the UFO oil, but this one just wasn’t for me.

What are your thoughts? Have you tried it?
