REVIEW: Unseen Sunscreen SPF 30 | Supergoop

Supergoop Unseen Sunscreen

July 8, 2020

Today, I want to talk to you about the importance of sunscreen, and a fantastic one I have been using: The Unseen Sunscreen SPF 30 from Supergoop!

Now, if you’re in the States, then you’ll have a fantastic selection of Supergoop products to choose from. But us kids in the UK, only have the Unseen Sunscreen available (something to do with EU regulations). But it’s a great option nonetheless, and you can pick it up directly from Cult Beauty.

Who should be wearing sunscreen?

Everyone! Whether you’re 30 years old living in Los Angeles, or 14 years old living in Leeds, you need to wear sunscreen every single day! No matter how hot the day is, or whether the sun is shining or not, you need to be wearing sunscreen!

SPF protects your skin from UVA and UVB rays. UVA rays are known for causing signs of ageing, and then UVB rays are known for causing burning. So always make sure that you’re purchasing an SPF that protects against both. Please note that all forms of tanning is dangerous.

UV exposure that leads to sunburn has proven to cause melanoma, which is the most dangerous form of skin cancer. So please, wear SPF!

The only safe way to tan is to fake it!

Let’s talk about the Supergoop Unseen Sunscreen

Firstly, I want to start on a huge positive: this SPF is 100% universal! No dodgy white cast, completely invisible on the skin, and scentless. If you’re familiar with pore-filling primers, then the texture of this is almost identical to those. If you’re familiar with other sunscreens, you know that these claims are big! But honestly, it’s true.

The Supergoop Unseen Sunscreen is an SPF 30 and protects against UVA, UBB, IRA, and blue-light! How great is that? In my personal opinion, SPF 30 is the minimum you should be using. If you use an SPF 30 product properly, it would take you 30 times longer to burn than if you used no sunscreen, so make sure you are reapplying every 2 hours.

If you wear makeup, you might find this hard to reapply. I am not too sure how it will sit on top of foundation, powders, etc. But, I don’t wear any of those so I haven’t had an issue. I know that Supergoop do have an SPF mist and an SPF powder, so if you’re in the States, check them out!

The only negative that I have with the product is that I’m not in love with the texture. Before I was invested in my skincare, I used to love pore-blurring primers; I had tried so many, and I loved them all. These days, I’m not a fan, and the texture is very reminiscent of that. However, I would much rather have a fantastic sunscreen, so I’m not going to complain too much.

Overall, this is a fantastic product. If you’re someone who hates the feeling of sunscreen on the skin, you would love this; It’s close to being weightless. However, I would take into consideration reapplying the sunscreen, and if you will have trouble reapplying, always have a mist/spray SPF in your bag just in case.
