My Daytime Routine: 10 Steps

June 25, 2020

Following on from My Nightime Routine post, I thought it would be interesting to share my daytime routine! As I work from home, I generally have more time in the mornings to take my time. Plus, a lot of the products I layer throughout the day. Nonetheless, I don’t expect everyone to have 10 steps in their morning routine.

It’s worth noting that since my last routine post I have started using a prescription tretinoin. As a result, I have excluded any exfoliation from my routine. But more on that later! Additionally, today we’re focusing on hydration, nourishment, and protection! Enjoy…

Let’s get into my daytime routine:

First Step: Cleanser

Previously, I spoke about this product the other day, this is the Revolution CBD Cleansing Cream. It works perfectly to remove any crusty eye gunk from my long sleep (attractive, I know).

Second Step: Cleanser (again)

Without a doubt, I love to double cleanse on a morning, it preps my skin wonderfully for the products that follow. I’m currently loving the Ho Karan Super Nice Trip cleansing gel. Enriched with Hemp Oil and Aloe Vera, it’s a gentle cleanser that feels balancing on the skin.
£14 | 125ml | Beauty Bay

Third Step: Mist

After that, I love to go in with a mist! This acts as a toner/hydration step. The Good Cera Super Ceramide Mist from Holika Holika is an incredible product. It’s packed full of ceramides which help retain moisture and improve the appearance of elasticity. It feels super refreshing on the skin, and really helps wake my skin up! Plus, it’s fantastic if you’re using retinol.

Fourth Step: Essence

A while ago, I had some Space NK points and decided to splurge on The Fresh Black Tea Kombucha Antioxidant Essence. It’s probably too soon to tell you if it works or not, but it’s supposed to boost luminosity, reduce the look of fine lines, and be anti-pollution. One things for sure, it sinks into the skin incredibly. I’ve tried other essences in the past, and they leave the skin feeling sticky! Not this one.
£28 | 50ml | Space NK

Fifth Step: Serum

Following on from my essence, I love to go in with a light serum. You already know that I’m currently loving The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid! It’s a fantastic product, which would work for everyone! There’s a full review on this, check it out. I’m almost out and I’m tempted to repurchase – either that or go back to the Inkey List Hyaluronic Acid.
£5.90 | 30ml | Cult Beauty

Sixth Step: Moisturiser

Because I’ve just layered my mist, essence, and serum, I love using a lightweight moisturiser. The Origins GinZing Oil-Free Energy-Boosting Gel Moisturiser is my current favourite. Infused with Coffee & Ginseng which can help re-energise the skin, making it a perfect morning moisturiser.
£25 | 50ml | John Lewis

Seventh Step: Eye Serum

This product has got to be one of my holy-grail eye products. The Skyn Iceland Brightening Eye Serum has 20+ powerhouse peptides which targets and treats the under eyes. – if you’re someone drinks a little too much and sleeps too little, this would be perfect for you.
£30 | 12ml | M&S | *Received in PR from Kilpatrick PR

Eighth Step: Lip Balm

I love lip balm! They could be 20 in my collection, but the Skyn Iceland Berry Lip Fix is one that I keep coming back too. It’s a perfect wintertime balm as it helps repair and hydrate lips both on the surface and deep down. However, it works just as great in the summertime too.

Nineth Step: SPF

Lastly, the final step is everyone’s routine should always be SPF. The Supergoop Unseen Sunscreen SPF 30 is my current favourite SPF. It feels more in line with a pore-filling primer, so if you wear makeup, this would be great! I would never say this lightly, but it truly is universal! There is zero white cast! For a full review on this, click here.
£30 | 50ml | Cult Beauty

Tenth Step: SPF

Lastly, SPF, again! The Pixi Beauty Sun Mist is fantastic for reapplication. You can carry it in your bag, and reapply on the go! However, make sure to carry some sort of beauty sponge, as it can sometimes appear blotchy.
£18 | 80ml | Cult Beauty
